How We Price Our Wood

Pricing based on real market comparisons

Our prices are not chosen at random. For unusual blanks, boards, blocks, and one-of-a-kind pieces, we research comparable material available in Canada and across North America whenever meaningful comparisons exist.

We consider species or likely species when identification is uncertain, dimensions and usable volume, figure and grain, color, density or weight when relevant, condition, preparation, defects, rarity, availability, and the overall character of the exact piece.

Because no two pieces of wood are exactly alike, there is not always a perfect apples-to-apples comparison. Our goal is to keep pricing competitive without pretending that every unusual piece has an identical market twin.

Planning a significant order?

If your cart is around CAD $200 or more, it can be worth contacting us before checkout. Send the product links or tell us what your project needs and we can review the complete order to see whether a custom price is possible.

Regular customers matter too

Order history, frequency, quantities, products, and the overall customer relationship can also matter. A repeat customer making smaller orders may still be worth reviewing. There is no rigid formula, automatic discount, or guaranteed percentage.

Our approach is simple: price the wood fairly, compare it against the market, and review real orders like humans rather than forcing every customer into the same rule.
